This was such a good read. I haven’t read ML Wangs other work, namely Sword of Kaigen, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. This was beautiful. It was well written, immersive, beautifully descriptive, but not full of itself. It immersed you in exactly what you needed to be immersed in when you needed to be immersed in it. The twist was beautifully handled and the ending was all I could have hoped for. I definitely understand the Babel comparisons but I think they both stand on their own.
