Magic & Mystery Collection by Various Authors
Due to this nature of this being an interwined connection, I won’t have full breakout of each story, but I do have a score for each story and short thoughts.
Miss Gentle and the Case of the Very Flat Monk by Travis Baldree - 4/5
This book felt like a Travis Baldree story. It was charming, cozy, and great.
The Wednesday Witches Book Club by Sarah Beth Durst - 3.5/5
I really liked the magic principles but the story itself fell major flat for me. It was my second least favorite of the group.
The Lion’s Tusk by Robert Jackson Bennett - 4.5/5
This one ended up being my tied for one of my favorites. The humor in it felt so effortless.
A Labyrinth of Honeybees by Heather Fawcett - 4/5
The twist at the end of this one caught me off guard, genuinely. I’m also such a big fan of Heather Fawcett, I would read anything.
The Wizard Who Kept Himself Suspicious by Scott Lynch - 3/5
I did not like this one at all. It is tied for Wednesday Witches Book Club as my least favorite.
Battle of the Round House by Tananarive Due - 4.5/5
This one was incredible. I wasn’t sure how it was going to tie into the theme but it was so good.
The Cairndale Orphan by J.M. Miro - 4.25/5
This one started similarly to the last but I loved it by the end.
