Right off the bat - I want to acknowledge that I mislaid my expectations and I would have enjoyed this more without doing so. I saw medieval fantasy horror and I was expecting it to be much closer to Between Two Fires (one of my favorites) and it was not that. It was much more grounded in reality. It is also a little bit more on the religious side of things. I think I will grow to enjoy this more and I will revisit it again to adjust my feelings accordingly.
Overall, if you want a slightly more realistic medieval horror story you’ll enjoy this. There’s nothing overly fantastical about it. The horror mind-trick moments are some of the standout moments.
That, though the brothers preached a gospel of love, they did so with hatred in their hearts.
